About the firm
Martin Lee Advisory provides Big 4 partner accounting expertise combined with AI engineering to companies at every stage of growth — from startups to small and mid-cap public companies. The firm is built on two decades of senior accounting leadership at the Big 4 and at venture-backed technology companies, with hands-on AI engineering that's rare at the senior level.
Practice background
The firm's practice draws on years of serving public companies and pre-IPO technology businesses, spanning both Big 4 audit and internal corporate accounting leadership. Our collective experience includes resolving complex technical accounting issues — particularly revenue recognition (ASC 606) and stock-based compensation (ASC 718) — for enterprise clients such as Amazon, Oracle, Salesforce, Apple, and Walmart.
Our team members have worked on IPO audits and S-1 readiness for Peloton, Olo, and ACV Auctions; managed SEC reporting portfolios for Google, Autodesk, and Workday; and advised audit committees at IAC, Angi, and over a dozen other organizations.
Beyond assurance and technical advisory, our expertise extends deep into operational accounting for venture-backed companies. We have accelerated global monthly close cycles from 25 days to 10 days through AI-driven automation. Our operational track record includes directing the financial integration for a Fortune 50 enterprise client onboarding that drove a 600% year-over-year revenue surge, formalizing ASC 606 policies for complex revenue streams, and overhauling order-to-cash lifecycles to reduce aged receivables from 33% to just 5% of total balances.
AI in practice
The firm's AI capability is built on hands-on engineering — not vendor partnerships or surface-level adoption. Our team's past work includes pioneering EY's first Generative AI use case for revenue contract analysis, significantly reducing manual review time. We have also built proprietary machine learning regression models for Google's search business to automate complex analysis, and led the national deployment of EY's ASC 606 revenue tool to thousands of practitioners.
This hands-on capability is backed by formal credentialing, including machine learning specializations from Stanford University and DeepLearning.AI, alongside certifications in Microsoft Azure AI, Google Cloud ML, IBM AI, and internal EY AI programs. Today, Martin Lee Advisory delivers every engagement through vLogic, our proprietary AI platform purpose-built for advanced accounting workflows.
Why this firm exists
Growing companies need senior accounting judgment. The traditional delivery models — Big 4 engagements, boutique firms, full-time hires — each have tradeoffs in cost, speed, technical depth, and fit. Meanwhile, AI is reshaping how accounting work gets done, but most firms haven't integrated it meaningfully.
But the delivery model is only half of why this firm exists. The moments when senior accounting work matters most — first audits, IPOs, complex transactions — are also some of the most stressful moments in a finance leader's career. Clients facing these moments deserve a firm that treats them as partners, not as engagements to be managed for risk and margin. That starts with trust from day one and continues by working toward what each client is trying to accomplish.
Martin Lee Advisory exists to do this differently: senior expertise delivered through AI engineering, with senior judgment standing behind every conclusion.
